How MegaRexxs MegaRaptor Just Blew Other Lifted Diesels Out of the Water

Not everyone wants a tiny little sportscar to ride around in. If you are one of those people who likes their vehicles big and bad to the bone, then Ford has something for you – the MegaRaptor, made in conjunction with MegaRexx.

This Super Duty pickup isn’t just big, it’s massive. It is so huge that you won’t be able to reach the middle of the roof to brush off snow. With a starting MSRP of $135,000, the MegaRaptor is not exactly budget-friendly. But it isn’t meant to be. This lifted diesel truck basically needs an “oversized load” banner taped to the back just to warn other drivers that this truck means business.

MegaRaptor Specs

You will have to get a Ford Super Duty diesel 4×4 truck in order to get the MegaRaptor. That means you can get it on the F-250, F-350, or F-450. It will also come with a 4.0- or 4.5-inch lifted suspension and a clamshell style front end. This beast rides around on massive 46-inch tires, which altogether weigh about 400 pounds per corner including hub adapters. Each tire is rated for 12,300 pounds, which is great since this truck weighs about 10,000 pounds.

The vehicle is remarkably proportional give its regeared final drive ratio of 4.88:1 and the corrected speedometer. You will need some visual reference points while driving since this thing is high off the ground. In fact, the floorboards sit nearly three feet from the ground.

What It’s Like to Drive

The MegaRaptor is designed to haul plenty of weight, including its own. The steering system will give you a good feel for the wheel-and-tire assemblies. What’s more, the brakes will make you feel as though you are hauling a hefty payload even when the truck bed is totally empty. However, when you plan your moves ahead of time, the MegaRaptor exhibits enjoyable driving dynamics on the open road.

How MegaRexx Works

In 2022 alone, MegaRexx upfitted about 40 new trucks. MegaRexx’s owner, Aaron Richardet, feels that the Super Duty is the perfect fit for the MegaRaptor since it is such a beefy pickup to begin with. Even though the wheel-and-tire assemblies are nothing short of monstrously sized, the Ford Super Duty was built to handle all the grunt work.

While the F-250 and F-350 MegaRaptor models are essentially designed the same way, there are bigger brakes on the F-450.

A More Aggressive Body

MegaRexx leaves the stock cabin intact and keeps the powertrain since the 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel engine puts forth a stellar 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. Instead, you get confronted by those massive 46-inch XZL tires that are mounted onto Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP, for short) wheels.

There are several body widths to choose from, but the Smasher front bumper is standard issue. Options include a locomotive horn. Yes, you read that right – a locomotive horn. You’ll need it to let everyone know you’re coming.

How To Order a MegaRaptor

If you look on MegaRexx’s website, they do not offer any pricing information, but you should expect it to run into the $130k range. If you get the base F-250 Super Duty Platinum with ots 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine, you’re looking at about $80k just for the pre-modded truck. The mods will add up quickly.

Take note, MegaRexx only does full rebuilds, and it can take them about two or three months to do one. If you want to buy from them, you will need to plop down a $5k deposit to secure your spot in line.

MegaRexx is making a mega-name for themselves right now as a superb modder of the Ford Super Duty. The MegaRaptor lives up to the image its name generates. Its enormous wheels and lowered suspension make it one monster of a pickup truck. If you’re looking to make a big impression on passersby, then driving a MegaRaptor is the way to do it.
