While many new cars are fuel-efficient, they are not created equal. If you’re looking for a new car, we’ve found 10 of the most fuel-efficient cars currently on the market.

2023 Toyota Prius LE Hatchback

This year’s Toyota Prius LE Hatchback tops the list with an EPA-estimated 57 mpg combined, 56 city and 57 highway. The hybrid car is the latest in the line of fourth-generation Prius models. Not only is the Prius LE Hatchback one of the most fuel-efficient cars out there, but it’s also pretty affordable, with an MSRP of $27,450. The 2023 Toyota Prius LE Hatchback would make a great daily driver.

2023 Kia Niro Hybrid

The 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid is another great fuel-efficient pick. This subcompact crossover SUV boasts up to 53 mpg combined. It gets 53 mpg in the city and 54 mpg on the highway. The car also features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack. The hybrid powertrain produces 139 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Toyota Corolla has always been one of the most dependable and eco-friendly cars around, and this year’s hybrid model is no different. The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid has an estimated 52 mpg combined (53 city and 52 highway). In addition to great fuel economy, the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid has a great range of standard features, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a rearview camera, and automatic climate control.

2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE

Yet another Toyota model comes near the top of our list, with good reason. The 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE is one of the most fuel-efficient cars in its class, with an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of up to 52 mpg combined (51 mpg city and 53 mpg highway). Like the other Toyotas on this list, the 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE won’t break the bank, with a starting MSRP of $28,080.

2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

The 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is part of the eighth generation of the Sonata line. This fuel-efficient car has an average mpg of 52 combined, 42 mpg on city streets, and 51 mpg on the highway. Along with its stellar fuel economy, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid features a suite of advanced safety technologies, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid

The Elantra is another classically solid Hyundai model that’s affordable and fuel-efficient. The 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 50 mpg combined. It can reach up to 49 mpg in urban areas and 52 mpg on the highway. The starting MSRP for the standard 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid is $24,550.

2023 Honda Accord Hybrid

As one of the most popular car models ever, it’s no surprise that the Honda Accord landed on this list. The 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid has an excellent fuel economy rating of 47 mpg combined, 48 mpg in the city, and 47 mpg on the highway. The car’s other specs include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor that produces 212 horsepower and is paired with an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT).

While it makes sense that most of the cars on this list are affordable, the luxurious 2023 Lexus ES 300h is surprisingly a very fuel-efficient car. The 2023 Lexus ES 300h gets an estimated fuel economy of 44 MPG combined (44 mpg city and 43 mpg highway). The starting MSRP for the 2023 ES 300h is $43,550, and the highest trim level, the Ultra Luxury, has a starting MSRP of $50,510.

2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid FWD

Although SUVs are not necessarily known for their fuel efficiency, the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid FWD has an impressive estimated fuel economy of 43 mpg combined (42 mpg city and 44 mpg highway). The car’s standard features include a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, an electric motor that produces 227 horsepower, 6-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, forward collision warning, and much more.

2023 Toyota Crown AWD
