Truckers’ Top 10 Picks for the Dumbest Four-Wheeler Vehicle Types

From the cumbersome, larger-than-life RVs carelessly cutting through lanes on the driveway to the dump trucks barreling past pedestrians with smoking breaks and the smell of burnt rubber, we’ve all, at one point or the other experienced an unimpressive four-wheeler breeze past us. Contributors on a truckers group voted the following four-wheelers the dumbest.

Smart Cars

Smart cars depict advanced four-wheeler technologies, increased safety, efficiency, and convenience for most people. But many truckers disagree. One user laments how the size of small smart cars makes it hard and challenging to see them while driving.

Several other truckers feel that smart cars may pose more hazards than benefits in traffic since they make it harder to navigate through tight spaces. For me, that is such a weird reason for canceling out a four-wheeler.

Lowriders

Lowriders are customized four-wheelers with hydraulic suspension systems that allow the car to be lowered and raised at will. However, lowriders are modified to ride low to the ground, and many truckers see them as often obnoxious and unsafe.

One trucker says modification to lowriders makes them unstable on the road; other truckers, in agreement with the opinion of a second user, associate lowriders with an unsaid sense of excessive masculinity in which the driver drives like they own the roads.

Civics With Spoilers

Many truckers feel that Civics with spoilers are unnecessary and a waste of money. They can also be distracting, as the spoilers draw attention from the road. Some other users rebuffed, saying that spoilers can improve a car’s appearance, complementing the car’s overall look and efficiency. A final user says spoilers can be unnecessary and even detract from the car’s aesthetic if they are too large or out of place.

Jacked-up Trucks

While jacked-up trucks may look impressive, they can be dangerous. One driver claims they are often too tall to fit under bridges and overpasses, and their modifications can make them less stable. Many truckers say they view jacked-up trucks as problematic because they can become safety hazards to other road users.

SUVs With Giant Rims

Another trucker finds SUVs with giant rims to be unnecessary and expensive. In agreement, a second trucker points out that giant rims on SUVs can reduce the stability of the four-wheeler on the road, especially when moving at very high speeds.

Hummers

Built with the physique of a minified incredible hulk, truckers see hummers as a symbol of excesses. One claims, “They are also difficult to maneuver in tight spaces and can be hard to see on the road.”

Smart Cars With Body Kits

Like smart cars without body kits, smart cars with body kits are equally dumb, according to truckers. One individual remarked that the body kits of smart cars could reduce their stability on the road and make maneuvering unnecessarily tricky. Several users, in response, suggest the body kits are a cause of accidents, with one user narrating how a kitted smart car rammed into their car’s taillight in a driveway.

PT Cruisers

PT cruisers are supposed to be retro-style compact cars, but these four-wheelers leave many truckers unimpressed. Several individuals on the forum find the cruiser ugly, with one user describing it as “absolutely unattractive.”

Corvettes

While Corvettes are sports cars, many truckers feel overpriced and do not live up to their hype. One funny trucker has said that his problem with Corvettes is that one can hardly pass them without staring. In response, another user says Corvettes make more of a fashion statement than the efficiency expected of the two-door, two-passenger luxury sport.

Mini Coopers

Mini Coopers have a cute and fun appeal, but many truckers find them a nuisance.  Several other users agree that they are small and difficult to see, which can make them unsafe to share the road with, especially in traffic.
