The added lift provided precisely that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2017, the Crosstrek moved to <a href=\"https:\/\/media.subaru.com\/pressrelease\/925\/238\/fhi-unveils-subaru-global-platform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Subaru\u2019s Global Platform<\/a>, the modular platform behind all Subaru models. The SGP provided added stability and durability to each of Subaru\u2019s vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2022, all of Subaru\u2019s cars are on the SGP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Subaru_Still_Making_the_Crosstrek\"><\/span><a><\/a>Is Subaru Still Making the Crosstrek?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Crosstrek sales continue to increase yearly, Subaru is still making the small crossover. The company released the 2022 model in early 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Although it was a late release for a new model year, Subaru has no plans to discontinue it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Crosstrek\u2019s 2023 model should be on dealer\u2019s lots in the summer of 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that release comes the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.subaru.com\/2023-crosstrek.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Special Edition<\/a> that features many high-end features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_the_Subaru_Crosstrek_Reliable\"><\/span><a><\/a>Is the Subaru Crosstrek Reliable?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the reasons Subaru retains customers is because it makes reliable vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Crosstrek is no exception, as it lives up to Subaru\u2019s reputation flawlessly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumerreports.org\/cars\/subaru\/crosstrek\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Consumer Reports<\/a> gave the crossover a 5\/5 for reliability and ranked it first for subcompact crossovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Crosstrek stands out regarding fuel economy, handling, and driver satisfaction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also has a lengthy list of safety features, including pedestrian detection, rear-seat reminder, and driver assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_Wrong_With_Subaru_Crosstrek\"><\/span><a><\/a>What Is Wrong With Subaru Crosstrek?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, Subaru is a reliable automaker that makes high-quality, long-lasting vehicles. For that reason, there are very few complaints about the Subaru Crosstrek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few notable exceptions regarding the Subaru Crosstrek, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Oil Consumption Recall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/tsbs\/2016\/MC-10120985-9999.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oil consumption recall<\/a> was one of the most significant issues the Crosstrek and other models had in recent years. Certain vehicles were consuming oil more quickly than necessary.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a result, a recall for the 2012-2015 model years went out in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the original recall was for pistons and oil rings, <a href=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/engine\/which-subaru-engines-to-avoid\/\">Subaru ultimately began replacing the entire engine<\/a> block. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A problem many owners ran into after the recall repair was a leaking <a href=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/engine\/faulty-valve-cover-gasket-symptoms\/\">valve cover gasket<\/a>. However, that was a relatively simple fix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Power<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another complaint many drivers have is with the Crosstrek\u2019s lack of power. <\/strong>The early models only received 148 horsepower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to its WRX sibling, having such a low-powered vehicle was a bit jarring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2021, Subaru gave the Crosstrek a more powerful engine. The 2.5-liter engine gets approximately 182 horsepower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a modest improvement, although some drivers would prefer more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, despite the lack of power, the Crosstrek is still an excellent off-road option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a>Head Gasket<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An issue Subaru has almost always suffered from is blown head gaskets. Your head <a href=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/oil\/causes-of-oil-pan-gasket-leak-and-how-to-fix-it\/\">gasket keeps your oil<\/a> and coolant flowing correctly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it doesn\u2019t function properly, you could end up with an overheated engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you allow your engine to overheat or ignore the <a href=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/emissions\/what-does-white-smoke-coming-out-of-the-exhaust-mean\/\">white smoke coming from your exhaust<\/a>, you could be in for an enormous repair bill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A head gasket on its own is one of the priciest repairs you can incur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you let the problem worsen, your maintenance cost will increase even further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"Is Subaru Discontinuing the Crosstrek in 2022\" class=\"wp-image-2414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/mycarmakesnoise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Subaru-Crosstrek-2022.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Subaru_Discontinuing_the_Crosstrek_Hybrid\"><\/span><a><\/a>Is Subaru Discontinuing the Crosstrek Hybrid?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Subaru\u2019s XV Crosstrek Hybrid was released for the 2013 model year. Unfortunately, the model didn\u2019t gain much popularity, so Subaru discontinued it in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Subaru announced its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.subaru.com\/vehicles\/crosstrek\/hybrid.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Crosstrek Hybrid<\/a>. This plug-in hybrid gets approximately 480 miles to a tank of gas and 90 MPGe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>However, the Crosstrek Hybrid has limited availability. Currently, it\u2019s only available in states that mandate zero-emission vehicles.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2022, the only states that mandate ZEVs are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>California<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colorado<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connecticut<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maryland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Massachusetts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Jersey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New York<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oregon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rhode Island<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vermont<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Washington<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Subaru currently doesn\u2019t have any plans to discontinue the new Crosstrek Hybrid.
